Notes: Whilst the arctic migrants are away producing their offspring, here at Miranda the annual turn out of wrybill can be seen at very close quarters on the Stilt pools and shell bank by the hide. This number of wrybill (an endemic internal migrant) represents over half the entire population in the world. The sight of 175 spoonbills is a treat for the visitor too. Look out for flagged godwits too - four of this year's transmitter birds decided not to make the long journey to the arctic this year. D7 was sighted recently and the transmitters show three others in the area too. Please report any sightings of these birds to the centre - Thanks.
